Hi there, it’s Today.

Sometimes we just get stuck in yesterday. Replaying a heated conversation, wishing you had spoken up in your work meeting, going over and over the same scenarios more than I’d rewind the final Dirty Dancing scene (Just me?? 🙂 That lift! Gives me chills every time!).

Don’t let rumination become a missed opportunity for a better day. Rumination has been described as “focused attention on the symptoms of one’s distress, and on its possible causes and consequences” as well as “a response to failure to progress satisfactorily towards a goal”.

In other words, Rumination is literally beating yourself up mentally. Rumination doesn’t solve problems, instead it forces you to relive distressing moments over and over again.

Yesterday is heavy, put it down.

If you notice yourself ruminating, try to remind yourself that you are living in a new day.
Today. Today is waiting for you to be a little easier on yourself. Today is chalked full of
opportunity to make small adjustments in the areas that may have bothered you
yesterday. Today will turn into tomorrow and soon enough, yesterdays worries will
eventually get a little less intense. Put it down, today has enough worries of it’s own.
